    Default European bee-eater

Bee-eaters are back from their winter migration to Africa. The couple return to their nesting colonies and occupy the same hole every year. They even have their favourite perches and fight for them with the others.
This one was taken in the early morning with the first rays of the sun just hitting the mountain in the background. I hope you like it.

Very pleasing image overall; nice vegetation and of course a wonderful bird in an interesting pose, nice and sharp.

Ohhh Yes. The birds head is looking soooo good. Love the contrast and colours throughout. Nice crop, I may loose the leave on the lower LHS. Sweet........

The colors on the bird look great. Great background as well here. Like the composition too.

I love the richness of the colours. Very nice comp and sweet perch. Yes to losing the bit of foliage in LLC, and I do wish there was more space between the tail and the leaf, but kudos on a fantastic image. Very appealing.

Hi Kalin, love the pose, colours look natural, and the plumage detail really shows up nicely - sharp too. Leaf in LLC mentioned already.

Gorgeous frame. Lovely colors and great background, nice perch and pose. Congratulations. (Add my vote to remove the foliage in the LLC)

Excellent image with an attractive perch and BG. I might get rid of the vegetation on the LRC and brighten the image a touch. well done and TFS

Thanks a lot for the great support guys! I agree the vegetation on the left is distracting. I tried by cropping it out but it leaves me with less space on the bottom of the frame. I am not great fan of removing it with Phtoshop or something. I will be more careful next time on the field!
    Thanks again!

I love this image. The Bee eaters are in abundance at this time here in Brisbane, but the colours on this one are amazing. TFS

Outstandingly beautiful capture. Nice rich colors in the early morning light, and lovely background.
