    I can see this time your bird has more details and sharpness than those you've posted. You could crop the pic a bit though. It seems you've got quite a few interesting birds to shoot in your area. And the most important thing about bird photography: you found the birds :)

    Many congrats Mike - this is such an improvment! The bird is nice and sharp with lovely details and the setting is so pretty. Well done my friend!!!

    PS I would be tempted to crop a little from the left side of the image as this will bring the bird out of the centre of the frame.

    I think I would get rid of the stick going through the jays head.

    Detail is much better here Mike! Here's a repost with a toned down BG, a little more brightness on the bird, and some additional sharpening. It's also recropped. How do you like it?

    If you have a tough time with ambient light, by all means invest in a flash and a Better Beamer. You'll see a big improvement in your photos for a very modest investment by bird photography standards.
