    Hello Everyone

Here's a Springbok portrait for you, captured at a waterhole in the Kalahari this February. On the South African side of the Park this species is more accustomed to vehicles so they get fairly close.

This is almost FF, processed in LR and PSCC. It is a very simple image but I thought I'd share it anyway. Techs as follows:

    Nikon D5
    Nikon 500 F4
    ISO 2000
    F7.1
    1/3200s

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Hi Gabriela - Simple but very effective. A nice portrait with excellent detail and control of the whites against a pleasing bg. The HA works too. It just has all come together nicely here.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Nothing wrong with 'simple' in my books Gabriela. This is a very nice portrait with beautiful detail and well chosen depth of field and focus point - f8 might have sharpened up the background ear but certainly this is 'nit-picking'. Love the soft, muted background as well. Maybe a touch less space on the left, or even a vertical comp would work here as well but very nice as presented.

Hi Gabriela -- This has come out so well, yes very simple but high on IQ, loved the details and the creamy bokeh. Superbly done. I feel the ss is a bit on the higher side then required but not a deal breaker.
    TFS !

Hi Gabriela, super detail nice 'form', lovely portrait - killer backdrop, good techs. My only note is, you didn't clean the horn completely in your masking, there is some residue over the tip of the horn, sorry.

Thank you so much dear friends, appreciated

Steve, I emailed you a copy of the image before I took it into PSCC. Don't think I even sharpened the tips, but I agree they look funny - kindly take a look when you find a moment

Haseeb, indeed SS quite high for a static subject - cannot remember why, perhaps I was playing with DoF as the bokkie's HA must have changed from time to time.

And Glenn - you can (in fact you must!) nitpick as much as you like We are all here to learn. Not much I can do about F-stop now but I will certainly look at your crop suggestion, thank you!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

This is lovely because of its simplicity.
I love the soft color palette and the detail in the fur.
My only suggestion (and comp is such a personal taste thing) would be to make this a 4x6 landscape orientation if you have enough canvas on the left.
    A pleasure to view,
    Gail

    HI Gabriela
Simple images are best for me. I love them.
The detail is superb, the soft lighting makes this even more so appealing.
    Wonderful portrait, TFS. :)
