As the month of "Grey" May zips by I was reminiscing about a favorite skimmer pond that is no longer...

I dug this one up from the archives 8 years ago.
The intersecting wake in the BG is from a skimmer that just passed.

    Thanks for looking.

Good and sharp where it counts.
I would be tempted to remove that extra wake- it doesn't really add to the story.
    Good POV.
Is there a reason why you are not posting at the new larger size? (Not criticising- just wondering!)

Classical Skimmer Shot. I never got a chance to photograph them in such a way.

Beautiful . I love the reflection.

I agree with removing the extra line across the frame.

Hi Gail, as far as the wake goes It was part of being there and having the skimmers come within 3 feet and hearing the water ripple off their beaks and actually feeling the wind as they went by, a reminder that I wouldn’t want to photoshop away. There were several crisscrossing each other and skimming side by side. Plus I like the extra bit of blue and the contrasting angles.
As far as the larger size I don’t feel it’s necessary, it’s to big for my monitor and it makes it easy for someone to drag and drop in a printable size.

To bad the skimmers weren't any better the other afternoon but this one sure looks nice. Nice pose, colors and details. At 1st I thought the extra wake was the one left by him but I don't think the extra wake adds to the image either.
    Nice one
