This one sure fits the theme. Great light. The owl looks very nice amongst all the golden grass.

Sweet light indeed, and a great frontal stare. Lovely bird and colors. I might have been tempted to take a sliver off the bottom.

Spectacular light and I love the setting. I would be very happy to have an image like this.
    Well done and TFS.

The light "is to die for". This type of light is a photographer's dream!
    I really like this.
The front-on direct gaze and the grasses are lovely.
With regards to comp, I would prefer this as a 3 x 2,
    Gail

Thank you for the feedback. Here is a 3x2 with less foreground.

John it is all about that sweet light. Man is that nice. Love the head on stare and the tones of the golden grass and how it is all set off by the deep blue tones of the ocean. I don't typically like squarish shots but I prefer your original. I think as you were below the bird and it is looking down on you that the extra space of the original just feels right, like you are giving room for the bird to look into. Beautiful image quality as with all of your shots. This one stands out to me along with the take off shot of the bird flying left as your 2 best Snowy shots of the season. Both fantastic shots John.

Beautiful light here John and you made the best of it. What a wonderful setting with lovely detail and pose on the bird. Fabulous colours throughout.
