Default Deer fawn - Shenandoah National Park

I've recently returned from a vacation that included a 4 day stop at Shenandoah National Park. My wife and I met my friend, Ken Conger up there and we really enjoyed our first attempt at photographing deer fawns. I've been busy since our return and haven't posted any images here yet. Here's the first one.

DETAILS: Canon 1D Mark II N with 300mm f2.8L IS lens and 1.4x extender, aperture priority 1/250 sec at f4, ISO 800, -1 EV. Shot from a tripod with Wimberley WH-200 gimbal head.

    Hey Tim,
Seems we have a friend in common. Ken went with me the first time to do bald eagles in Alaska!
Love the tender moment you captured here. Exposure is right on. Maybe a hair tight on the bottom but not enough to detract from a great wildlife story

Sweet capture! The sharpness and color are spot on.
And the moment with the mother and daughter are great!

    Tim,
Nice colors and composition. I like how you've got the fawn framed between the doe's legs.

Seems like you had a great time there. A very intimate moment captured nicely. A bit tight, but nice. Contrast-wise I'd play around with curves a bit to make this pop. Also you might want to take a look at your colours, as it looks like there is a slight red-cast in this one.
