Piping Plover Chick - and call for more submissions!
Yo Folks!
I've only got about a dozen images for this month's Sweet Light theme (I'm the judge!),
so hopefully this little guy will inspire a few more Sweet Light submissions before May expires.
This is one from my personal vault. It was taken in 2012 - very early in my photo days - when
I lived in Boston. This chick is probably only a few days old. He was only 2" tall!

Cheated and cloned out a few distracting shell bits and small rocks on the sand.
What a lovely little cutie, Dorian. Love the low POV, the shadow, raised foot and muddy bill. Fantastic pop against a dark background too and all in tack-sharp detail. Composition simple and appropriate, I think.
On the monthly theme, I'm surprised there are so few entries. Thought this would attract tons of entries. I'll have a look through my files.
I love these little cotton balls with legs. Can't wait to get a chance to photograph them soon. Nice light here and I like the pose. I am not crazy about shadows that are cut off and bleeding out of the frame. Also the eye does not look tack sharp to me.
I am with Isaac here. My first thought was the head seemed to lack just a little bit of sharpness. At least, the feet seem sharper.
Lovely light and POV! :)
