    Default young burrowing owl

Gail B. and I had a fun time scoping out burrows and looking for owlets. Our jackpot happened when Gail found four youngsters and this is one of them. Both parents were present and none of the young owls could fly but they certainly popped up, bounced around, did wing stretches, and looked adorable throughout the two sessions we camped out. Love the wispy down on the top of the head...

    This looks great Ann.
I too, love the down feathers on the head.
The "wings up" pose is great and you have a great HA. I also love the curved flower behind the bird.
The light was great that night and it really makes the image pop!IQ and POV all topnotch.

    Hi Ann,
Wonderful Owlet image. Captures the action of this youngster so well and the light is terrific. I like the habitat around the bird as well.

I really like this shot, the colours are beautiful, the owlet is well detailed and the pose is ideal, even a slight head turn! The background is busy in part but I do not find it to be a distraction, in fact I like this very natural setting.

You should stop posting here, Ann. You're making me feel very inferior. :) Actually, that's good; I need to up my game. In the meantime, I love your images, this one included. You've made a busy BG and foreground work, too.

This is just gorgeous Ann, techs are perfect for starters, but the light and the pose with the low POV, head angle and raised wings are brilliant. I love the extra 'mess' the environment brings, it really puts the chick in its territory

Great moment captured Ann!! Love the nice soft light and the good look at all the new feathers growing in. Nice light angle and the details look great too. Well done

    Hi Ann,

Great capture! Beautiful light, fine detail, and nice warm tones throughout. Like the slightest head turn.

Hi Ann, exquisite light here, low perspective, and well timed to capture the raised wings. You have brought out the detail nicely, sharp where it counts, and I like that this shows up their enviroment.
