    Default Pel's Fishing Owl

One of the birds at the top of my list was the Pel's Fishing Owl while in Botswana this past February. One afternoon we set out, each of us in our own Mokoro, a replica of a dugout canoe, and made of fiberglass, to see what we could find. At one point someone yelled, 'Pel's'. There he was in the clear on a branch overhanging the water. Lifer for me. C&C welcome.

Well done Geoffrey on getting this one. Congrats. Lovely looking bird and I think it goes well with the leaves in the BG. Nice perch and very natural looking. I would try sharpening the birds head a little.

Congrats on the lifer Geoffrey, love the ol tree and the framing of the owl here. Yes a tad more sharpening on the head. Love the setting.

Difficult BG and overall setting to deal with. I imagine these guys are not very often so much in the open. The owl itself is a rather cool-looking individual. Congrats on your sighting!
