Sharp and perfect with a neat, skinny little flatfish. Like the relatively low perspective, the bird square to the back of the camera, the drops, and of course, the prey item.

Well done Gail, love the flatfish and the action here! Sharp and POV, really like that you too were in the water to shoot this frame!

Hi Gail, If you have an image showing the head of the fish please shoot it to me via e-mail or post it here. I am trying to get it IDed beyond some type of flounder.

I am pretty sure it is called a "southern flounder".

Very nice. Like the low angle the water drops and the light is nice as well.

Beautiful image Gail I like it very much, this is not intended as a backhanded compliment but I suspected there had been some treatment to the water. I like the positioning of the bird and prey, colours and detail are excellent, a very pleasing image.

Gail super shot, prey is a big bonus, looks like some kind of flounder, turbot or baby halibut.

Hi Gail, I like your low perspective, and incredible detail throughout the image. The month's theme certainly raises the IQ in the image. Tack sharp, his catch a bonus, and I like the colours in the upper BG. I would take a touch off the bottom, and you would still have room for the virtual legs.

Really nice image, I think one of your best. Sharp clean detail, the fish, the water, pleasing composition, all work together. Thank you for sharing, Gail.

This is a winner, Gail. Love the splash and the detail on the fish. Low angle money as well.

Looked at this a while ago on my phone but finally sitting down on the big screen and this dose look fantastic! Love the late evening lighting, some of my favorite light to shoot in. The flounder really adds action and interest to the scene and the colors and details look great too.. Well done
