    Default sprinting redshank

Looking through flight shots and came across this redshank taken in Iceland. Not sure why the foot is in this position, maybe an injury? They are the noisiest birds and their call is "alarming" and when you hear it over and over and over again, there seems to be a bit of "boy or bird that cried wolf"

Nice flight pose. The foot looks neat tucked in like that. Wish the far wing was up more.

For a fat little squat shorebird this is a really neat image. I am pretty sure that the tucked in foot is 100% normal. Sharp with a perfect exposure and a neat had angle.

Very nice frame Ann! Man you must have a whole bunch of amazing shots in store if you waited this long to post this one. I really like the position of the legs. Looks like it is running in mid air. In a perfect world the rear wing would be up a bit more but this is still great as is.

    Hi Ann,
Very nice "running" pose you caught on this bird and fine details captured. Nicely composed.

What a neat pose. It looks to me like it had finished a mid-flight scritch.

nice behavior shot, many shorebirds do this not an injury, there is sharpening halo around the bird

    Lovely light.
I forgot all about these images from our second morning #2 in Iceland.

Hi Ann, great flying pose, and this is really sharp - the feather detail really stands out. I would remove the blues in the shadow of the far wing. Well captured.
