Gail - That is certainly a very handsome (or pretty) specimen. The bg is a gorgeous, and I love that pov. Thanks for sharing the image and the process.

Gorgeous bird, pose, and BG Gail. The eye is amazing, and if you aren't opposed to it I think cloning out that second small catchlight would help define it even more. The bit of red on the head is really nice. I like the bit of in focus sand as well. Do you use a tripod for these low shots or just handhold? TFS

Hi Gail, excellent low angle with a sweet pose. Great detail on the plumage, and I like the grains of sand on the tip of the beak from its feeding behaviour. Just enough FG in the lower frame, and a killer upper BG.

Looks great Gail. Nice details and background. Being super picky I wish the head was turned just a tiny bit more towards us. Question for you. The dark feathers on the under side of the bird between the legs and the butt have light tips to them. Was that natural? Those feathers are also bluish.

Hi Isaac, I think that is just some shadowing. I did not do any "work" to that area.
