    I caught this little grebe, just when he was about to dive down and swim away. Canon 7Dll, 100-400-ll 1.4xlll 560mm f8 1/1250, 640 iso

    Holy smoke! That is one weird looking bird - are you sure you didn't make it yourself in photoshop!

    That red, white and black eye is really something else! And the bulk of black and tan feathers on the side of the head! Not like any grebe I have ever seen!

    Light is a bit high and harsh, but you have to grab them as you can. I have lots of shots of splashes and tail feathers with grebes.

    Thanks for sharing - it's really wild!

    Nice details, I feel it's a tad washed out, maybe a bit more contrast or tone adjustment.
