    Hello John,

    I can see that the tip of the bill is out of focus, meaning that the sensor was not parallel to it. IMO removing the lower catchlight, adding more light to the iris and getting more details on the whites will improve the image greatly. I'd also remove the darker section of the background behind the bird's head. Thank you for sharing.

    An attractive shot, the bill tip is slightly OOF but not much, a curves layer raising the shadows a little and simultaneously lowering the highlights does improve details. Personally I would leave the shadows, they look natural to me.
