    Default Fish Crow

Inspired by David's Raven posting, here is a true New York Fish Crow. I photographed it while it was eating a pigeon that seemed to have been hit by a car. Light was heavy overcast and I think that helped to be able to expose the bird so the details could be seen. Note that the bird seemed to be covered in some sort of very fine white dust.

Hi Isaac, love your Fish Crow! I like the high key with a black bird and full of detail and textures... and in those "blacks" I see lots of colors, well done!

Nice detail on the crow. Like the high key look of this one.

White dust around beak/nose in NYC? - no comment needed! I've actually been hoping to get a good headshot of crow/raven for a while but the
conditions aren't ever just right. That and I'm often more specifically chasing other targets around. This is a very nice result.
