I got this Ruddy as it swam by close. I prayed it would turn just a bit and catch the sun at a perfect angle, but apparently, ducks don't respond to prayers, since it just kept swimming by me towards the sun! i still like the lighting pretty well though. I would have liked a little room in front, but this guy was moving to fast to really think about composition. Canon 7Dll, 100-400ll with the 1.4x lll 490 mm f/8 1/1000, 640 iso

Hi Michael, good capture for the theme, and I like your low shooting angle. Pity about the light angle and shadows. I do like the bubbles in the bow wave.

I like the contrasty look. Lovely bow wave. Nice detail. Would like to see it posted bigger.

Apart form the light angle you mention (which sill kinda works), this is a really sweet image. Low angle, bow wave, and comp all look good me. As posted the face seems soft though. Likely worth another round of sharpening in that area, at least for these types of small web postings.

re sharpen attempt for Daniel, still looks the same on here, after double sharpening, i don't know why it looks soft, it is fine on my computer viewer and on light room.
