Can't remember if this has been posted or not, but this is one of the owlets in the process of preening from last years brood. No idea if they are around as there is no signs as yet, but we will see.

Thanks to those who posted or viewed the previous thread.

great story, detail, nice contrasting background. Love the little foot! not sure if I would keep the out of focus bark area, it caught my eye a little. great shot!

Thanks Michael, my concerns are that if you loose a lot of the felled tree stop the 'content' appears to be slipping out of frame and so I often prefer a bit more 'weight' at the foot of an image, but in essence, yes some could go.

I love it, beautiful Little Owl, a treasure. I am conflicted regarding the out of focus portion of stump. I appears your depth of field was narrow so changing the aperture probably would not have mattered. A question for you... do you do your sharpening in Lightroom?

    Thank you for sharing.

Yep, drop me a line if you have a specific question, also what version are you using, personally don't upgrade to 7.3, keep to 7.2!!!

Wonderful pose. Too much oof stump by half, for my taste, but otherwise a great capture. I do wish his eye was open, but it is natural for him to close it in a situation like this.

I would crop from below leaving only a slight part of OOF perch. All else looks great, Detail on the bird is real good and I love the pose you captured. The BG(love the greens) shows the bird real well. And, some off the top, to balance the frame. Nice one Steve.

Thanks guys, this is about as far as I would crop the trunk, but changed to a 10 x 8 format and yes Will, not bad for ISO 6400

Hi Steve, very well timed for the tooth pick, and in turn, we have a great view of his foot. Nice fuzzy detail showing up on his body, and I like the feather detail too. All posed against a nice clean BG. I hope you get to see them again.
