Hi Keith - I don't think I've ever seen a water vole so thanks for posting this. I think you needed some more ss to freeze the swimming vole. Also having never seen one, I could be completely off on my rp but I darkened the bg, darkened the greens in a hsl layer and selectively burned the bright spots on the floating foliage. Finally, I dropped the magenta on the vole. WDYT?
Hi Keith, is this FF or cropped as I feel you need more to the LHS, it's too tight as presented. As the Vole is moving I would to go to at least ISO3200 for more SS. I like the POV and the 'bow wave' and he RP is in the right direction, but I'm hesitant about IQ. Cropping the leaves at the top is a must.
Thanks Rachel I do like what you have done ,did drop the magenta a bit myself but not maybe enough,Vole certainly stands out better, agree with yourself and Steve re the shutter speed but these are images I took a while ago and would certainly increase it now,Steve IQ with you on that.
Good capture, Keith of a new creature for me. I think you did well given the low shutter speed, and you panned nicely with him retaining detail on his head and neck. I too like the ripples in front.
Hey Keith,a joy to see,it's such a shame their numbers have been so effected by the American mink here. A species one day I'll find time for I like the repost by Rachel and have noted the comments re techs, as always want lower pov,but know well this isn't always possible, mind the image still works for me Keith, you make some cool rodent images. I really hope we'll see more soon they inspire me buddy !!!
