We had a few partially rainy days in Botswana, but shooting from beneath the roof of the Land Cruiser offered some interesting shots.

Love shots that show rain. Really like the perch and the drenched look on the bird.

Beautiful bird and pose Bill. Nice perch and background. Rain drops look nice. The bird face's looks a little soft on my screen, easy fix. Thank you for sharing.

Love this setting and the pose. The colors are really nice against the dark BG. I agree with a bit more sharpening on the face. Cool perch too. Glad it was a good trip. TFS

I like this a lot Bill, the calling pose and the rain drops add a lot to the shot

Hi Bill, great sighting here, and I like the wing stretch and calling pose. I do like the inclusion of the falling rain.

They say when you hear these guys calling, it is about to rain, and funnily enough your image shows this perfectly. We have a resident in our Garden but it is a Burchell's Coucal, and we often hear him calling - unmistakable sound. Have I got an image of him - nope, as they are very skittish and hide deep inside the thick bushes in our garden.

Thank you all for looking and commenting. Interesting, Stu, that he foretells the rain; I guess this proves it.

I can see that the head needs a bit of selective sharpening. I'll go back and make the change.
