One from this Spring. I found a good spot where the Blackbirds flew back and forth giving me many attempts to capture them in flight.
Simply awesome Jody. This is the best red-winged blackbird flight image that I have seen. Superb exposure and incredible detail in the blacks as well as a killer BG. Amazing capture !!
I've been shooting red-winged blackbirds for three years, and this beats anything I've gotten so far, Jody. I'm not sure if folks realize how difficult this shot is, as they are a small bird and very difficult to pick up in the open and keep in focus. Exposure is also quite difficult on these guys unless you have just the right light, and you did a good job of managing to get enough feather detail.
While I've got some keepers, I've never got a decent shot of one in flight.
This really is outstanding...amazing flight photograph. I love the suble background colors and the great lighting on the bird itself. Fine work once again Jody!
Fantastic image Jody. Outstanding. My only suggestion is to do some restoring and cloning work to hide the downy feathers at the flank of the bird. The light, banking pose and Bg are killer. Big congratulations for such a fine image
Can't really understand how you are getting all of these amazing flightshots of these super fast birds, even if you do know a good flythrough spot for them. Anyway killer shot. Would give juans suggestion a try. Can't think of anything else than keep them comming!
