This lovely little goose was one of many on my target list. I had hoped to catch him from a boat, closer and with a lower POV, but it turns out this is a very skittish species. The best we got was a view from the Land Cruiser under less than favorable lighting. But it is such a beautiful little bird that I thought it was worth sharing. I also tried a tighter crop, but this shows some nice habitat.

Bill - I like that you included the habitat and I think the oof flower to the right adds a nice sort of counterbalancing element to the composition. Its a really cool looking bird that I've never seen before. Thanks for sharing this one.

You did well with what you were given. Such a neat looking duck. Like the blue water.

What a beautiful bird! The colors are fantastic. As you pointed out, less than ideal light and position, but, well, the bird deserves this frame. ;) Thanks for sharing.

What a great bird, shown nicely! Yeah, it woulda been nice to get lower and fill up the frame, but you work with what you've got, right? Feather detail is really nice even from a distance.

Hi Bill, from all your subjects you have posted recently from your trip, this is one subject I dont have in my files - great sighting. You are also lucky to have him in the open. Colours look good and I like the pose.
