That is some fantastic lighting and background color. Exposure on white looks nice and detail on feet is wonderful.
only wish that we had a bit more eye contact and interaction.

Quality capture Joseph. Great exposure of the whites and good feather detail. Perch is good and really love seeing the feet on this species. Head angle doesn't bother me on this one as the image displays some great behaviour. No nits from me!

Beautiful elegant image, I think the colours could have been interpreted in different ways but I find this very eye catching.....I reckon it would make a nice print.

Hey Joe - As others have said, very nice detail captured in the whites, and I like the nice clean bg. Those snowy egrets were entertaining all morning. Good seeing you out there.

Really Nice Image. I like the exposure on the white.

I do feel I could you more space around the bird. A bit more space on the right side would have helped.

    Thanks for sharing.

Hi Joe. This is a beauty. Great whites and fine detail, all showing up nicely against the simple, rich blue. You have the eye focused on the task at hand, which works for me. I could imagine a version with a bit more room, but this is very handsome as presented.

I'd rather see a bit more space above the bird than on the right. You have created a very elegant look but to my eye some of the WHITEs are grayed out ... Best advice for preening shots: try to push the button when the bird's face is perfectly parallel to the back of the camera ...

Hi Joe, excellent feather detail and overall sharp too. I like the simple perch, and could see a traditional landscape comp with this pose.

I love the way the white bird looks against that blue background. Nice perch. I agree that the whites could be a bit whiter. Also I would prefer more room on the right and above.

Hey Artie, you're right the whites are graying out in some areas. Too much highlight reduction. I went back and corrected being more careful this time. While capturing this image I remembered your advice regarding preening images. This is the closest the birds face came to parallel to the back of the camera. I was talking to the bird, encouraging it to move it's head into position. Here is a do over using your suggestions.
