Hi folks ..
To throw something in the mix ....some European Bison from Kraansvlak .Taken last september in the Netherlands .
These three are part of that small herd over there and they had been on the move , we have been surrounded by them more or less .

Processed with C1 and PS C 2018 ; slight crop from top and RHS

Looks nice Andreas, love the overall colour and nicely framed.

C1 - looking good but not investing another ££££ as they won't upgrade my original, LR7.3 is a bag of nails, but folk who don't understand will love it, time to get to grips with another. Nice work.

Hi Andreas - How is this a theme image, where's the water? Nice look at the bison and good separation of the third bison in the bg from the other 2. The trc looks a little strange with the bit of darker blue sky. There also seem to be a couple of dust spots on the lhs in the clouds and sky above the trees.

Steve - I never heard the expression "bag of nails" but presume from the context that it is a bad thing?

Thanks Steve and Rachel , much appreciate your feedback.

Steve - I think LR is going for mass and add a lot of useless no brainer stuff , for one click adjustments ....well who needs it , will go for them . You and others will leave that stuff alone .Maybe people who think investing 2 minutes is enough to create a good file , will like the new features. One can add that fancy stuff to C1 too, if one likes it. I work only with the basic C1 , and i do use some of the local adjustment stuff. Still sending a rather flat file to PS for finer work .If needed use Neat Image for NR , no use of NR within C1 .
Would like to know what you are playing with ........you might drop me a line .Or is it still that Beta version you played with ?

Rachel - well i thought clouds are made by water ...so i could use it as a theme image , i am joking . Sorry was a mistake , could you be so kind and change it for me. Nothing fancy done to the sky .... , but will take another look tonight when i am at home.

Hi Andreas, I'm not going further as it will take the thread off topic, but your summing up is bang on with my thinking. A lot of 'Pre-sets' that folk will love and 'think' they are processing the image, sadly not and again allowing Third Parties to guide them.

I am only just starting (finding my way) to looking at this Convertor as it's not for the faint hearted and there is no manual as such - which is helpful, but one thing I have found is that we 'think' we expose correctly via the Histogram, but both Canon & Nikon under expose by around 2/3rds, eek. If I have time today I may process a file, but on the laptop once I get some clear air, just up to my eyes in 'House Duties' .

I do like some of he key features in C1 and wish LR would adopt them.

BTW Have you printed any of these files out, let me know off line.

Andreas I like the image but the colours look a little skewed to me it looks a little yellow I hope you don't mind but here is an alternative I suspect I may have gone a little too cool but , think the colours are more neutral. I may of course be missing the fact that there was a certain lighting and I am completely misinterpreting it.

Well i think the day was a warm sunny afternoon in september , image taken at around 2:30pm . So for me the overall colors might be more on the warm side of the spectrum , but for sure colors are subjective . Your version is a bit too far on the cool side for my eyes.
So just for you i created a slightly cooler look .....but with a slow hand , not with a hammer .
All i did was using the ACR filter on the low res file and set the blue /yellow in the WB to - 10. The filter was masked through the inverted red channel at 66 % .
Matter of taste ...i think.

Rachel had a quick look , there are some little bunnies , but what you see are just holes in the clouds . The TRC is as shot , just darker than the original .

Andreas I really like the framing and all the (depth in the bkg) layers to the image,it's so interesting to look at ,alot to hold a viewer's eyes. Lovely to see jon's repost,I think I actually like your second edit the best of the three,but it is very close, between that and your first.

I adore the detail and nuances you work to Andreas ,it's really inspiring for someone learning and watching

Andreas must admit your first post is just fine for me,really like the texture and the detail on these magnificent animals.My only little problem and something perhaps out of your control is the oof one at the back which takes me away from the two perfect ones,just my view and chances are I am probably way off the mark and no one else as mentioned it .Excellent piece of work.

Another winner, Andreas!

Comp is perfect, in terms of colour I prefer the OP. I like things on the warmer side, I am afraid Love the "velvety" look of the Bison fur, tonality is superb.

Subjects well positioned within the frame, nice HA, POV, everything works. So much to look at here, from the colourful trees against the blue sky to the Bison to the clumps of grasses in the FG. A rich image in terms of environment and such pleasing to the eye.

I so enjoyed viewing, thank you for sharing Boetie:)
