    Great blue take off in the snow. This image was created at Montezuma national wildlife refuge in Tyre, New York on 4/6/18 at 11:03AM. Image adjustments in Lightroom and Photoshop.

    I like the takeoff pose. Also the almost symmetrical water trail from each foot. Snow is a nice bonus as well. I do think the image would benefit from a little more depth in the colors.

    John - I love that you got this bird in the snow (I'm jealous of all these snow shots you guys get). No idea how at ƒ/6.3 the depth of focus seems to extend all the way out to include both wings or at least most of them ( I feel like I always get these oof). I like the inclusion of the shoreline at the top of the image and the overall composition is nice.

    Good looking takeoff pose, with a nice flight angle. Well exposed, and the snow adds a nice element.

    I like it very much John, those water droplets tumbling from the legs look great. Sharp detailed nicely composed. The colours look quite saturated but I do appreciate the bird in USA are often more brightly coloured than their European relatives.

    Hi John, well timed for the take off, and you seem to have captured most of your images in falling snow, which I personally think is great, since I dont get snow in my part of SA.

    These guys are very similar to our Grey Herons.
