    I like the pose, perch, and background. The bird looks soft though -- was this a big crop? Or possibly heat shimmer? The bit of blood on the foot is cool.

    Looks like you caught him in a nice pose. We got a good look at the red eye but as you mentioned it looks like it's too big of a crop and therefore too much post processing work on the image. Keep em coming
