    Nice frame here. Good detail on the bird. Nice background with a good perch. I could see a version with the bird higher in the frame.

    Hi Jon, A place I have walked into on numerous occasions. Lovely alert pose, and I like the feather detail shown on the Green Back. Comp wise, I would move the perch away from the LLC - just move it up so it is not protruding from the very corner of the frame.

    Looking at the OOF Water Lillies, this was captured looking straight out from the front of the hide. Im not sure how many times you went there, but walking in and turning right to the far corner gives you more areas of action. Pity about the light.

    BTW, these guys are now known as a Striated Heron in SA.

    I love the range of colors in the fluffed-out feathers. I might have been tempted to try some Tonal Contrast to make him pop, but given the dull light, this is probably how he looked to you at the time.

    The fluffed feathers great. He does look a bit low in the frame to me. I might also crop in a bit tighter to lose some of that distracting reflection on the ride hand side as well. But that's my obsession with super clean frames speaking.
