I was up early looking or hares and had no luck so I nipped over to the lake and got this goose in morning light.

I very much like the incoming pose, the landing gear out and that calling pose. I got a good laugh when I read your comment about my Snowy Owl. Don't take that the wrong way. Maybe it is our monitors or just different styles, but I always seem to say that your shots a a bit thin or dull and you that mine or a little too contrasty or bright . Anyway so I don't disappoint, I think you could warm this one up a bit and also increase the exposure to maybe get some detail out of the neck (not sure if it is just too much in the shade?). Also you have an obvious cloning mark on the top left corner of the frame that you need to clean up.

Isaac, no offence taken, I suspect you are right we will see things rather differently, I have an Eizo I think you have a Mac? You are sitting in front of a 27" screen whilst mine is currently 23" so you will have a lot more light hitting you than I. My PC is located in a lowly lit room, usually no electric light.
Regards the cloning I don't recall doing any in the corner, I did extend the blue stripe slightly lower than half way down on the LHS.

Hi Jon, I like this Canada goose incoming, you nailed the banking and of course the open squawking beak! I too would say increase exposure...

Yes I understand the request for more exposure, in fact I tries it,.......but I felt the image lost "atmosphere" by doing so.

I think if you make the black neck brighter, it would make a big difference. That was what my eyes were drawn to.

This is a fun shot of this usually overlooked bird. Goofy landing pose is great. Top left corner does look overly jumbled and is a bit distracting, but otherwise a nice shot.
