The wolf is one of my favourite animals, second only to Leo! I just cannot ignore those penetrating eyes, they just make me want to have the privilege of being nearby just to stare and gaze. I realise there is a good deal of variation in coat colours and he is quite darkly coloured, I wonder if it is worth lifting the darkest areas just a tad, his nose perhaps in particular???
I assume there must have been a reason but why are his legs chopped off?
Do think the repost tells more of a story and I personally do prefer it showing the kill and the snowy setting.
Agreeing with Keith about rather showing the kill. It's not ideal but it's stacks better than chopped-off legs. Unless you crop even more and make a facial & chest portrait out of it.
As far as detail is concerned - beautiful! Specially those eyes! Nice complementing colors in the BG as well!
Sadly, presentation (too small) techs and PP have let the overall capture down. The stare is great, but too much negative space on the LHS, it needed to be on the RHS, the framing needs moving to the right (in camera).
