    Default Zebra Perch

I am lucky that I have a nature reserve close to where I live ( 30 min drive ) and some times I go there for the sole reason on hoping to find Egrets catching a ride on a Zebra's back. On this occasion, I even managed an incoming shot as this Egret came in to perch on the back of the Zebra. Taken early morning.

Very well captured Stu. Love the whites and the feather detail. Great pose and HA. Splendid BG as per usual. Ask the zebra to face us next time

    Good work

Great capture, Stu. Very nice whites and I like the approach, touchdown position on the Zebra landing pad. Beautiful BG.

Sounds like the plan works quite well. Nice detail in the whites. The perch is a bonus as well.

Talk about a shot that I will never get in New York City! I like the wings up and the great background. And what a great perch. I do wish the focal point wasn't the business end of that zebra

I guess you chose to live where you are so not entirely luck, Stu. All the same, I'm envious! This is a beautifully handled shot with great detail in the white plumage without making it look dull. Nice angle towards you on the egret too and wings-up adds. Of course, as others have said, the perch is the crowning glory for this one. Yes, keep trying though. One day I'm sure you'll get the zebra facing or angled towards us.

I remember a few like this before. And I liked them. Exposure and details on the egret look awesome and the colorful interesting perch takes this one up a notch or two. Well done Stu!

This would have been great if you'd gotten that tail in focus. JK of course... neat shot - nice exposure and detail.
