Hi Rachel, a serene and lovely scene with the solitary bear and those OOF gulls. The SS should be 1600?? Are those dust bunnies in the sky above the distant mountains (3 dots in line with the middle gull)?? TFS.

Thanks Tobie and Sanjeev. Sanjeev, 1/1500 is correct on the ss. I think the spots you are seeing may be spray on the lens. There shouldn't be any dust bunnies at f5.6. Either way I can remove them. Thanks for pointing them out.

    Hello Rachel,

Another delightful bearscape - just wondering, did you capture this frame at dawn or at dusk? The air seems quiet, although I imagine the silence was interrupted from time to time by the gulls. Light is gorgeous and I like the way it touches the bear.

This is a well exposed image carefully processed, lovely framing, colours, as well as perspective. No nits from me save for the little spots, easy fix for you of course, overall the image works for me as presented

    Warmest regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

Another very fine shot, Rachel. I really love the muted tone and colour of the distant snow-capped mountains contrasting with the more intense tones on the bear and in the foreground. Even so, I might be tempted to try this with a little less contrast in the foreground. I do find the gulls a little distracting but I doubt you could get a frame without them (gulls being gulls). In spite of this, I still think this is a really well seen and executed shot with good aesthetic impact.

Love this. Nice comp. The three gulls, with different variations of OOF, give the image great depth. The bear stands out well against the BG, and the hills finish it off perfectly.

Hi Rachel, this is a nice image and I like the colour palette.

The Gulls and head turn work and I like the saturated coat of the bear. I think being that close f/7.1 would have been better and the bear does have a bit of 'crunchy' to the darks, the shadows are clipped IMHO.

Sadly they are DB's Rachel, (over 12 of them ) time to put the cameras into Canon for a clean & brush up I think. Sadly DB's are always there in some shape or form and so using the tools in LR or PS should be part of anybody's workflow, as they are so easy to deal with at the RAW stage.

Hi Rachel -- Loved the beautiful scene and the distant mountains are adding to the scene . I agree with Steve reg the shadows and crunchy look.

The DB are a real nuisance. I had given my camera for a clean up but they still remain in few numbers. Hope you get it sorted out.

    A nice image. TFS !
