Hi John, a nice portrait and those antlers look great. I like the pose and the details. I would just tone down the white OOF streak in the lower right corner.

John, you have these deer images sewn up. A very nice portrait with beautiful detail and great background. Like Sanjeev, I'd tone down the white oof stuff lower right but no big deal on what is a very nice piece of work.

Hi John - This is really an excellent portrait. Love the head on stare. Good choice on the dof. Techs look good and so does the pp. Only other thing i might do is back off ever so slightly on the sharpening on the neck and body. It looks a little crunchy but may also be because of the sizing. Nice one.

I quite like the format here John, but the Blacks/Contrast I feel are a tad strong. The lighter 'branches' towards the foot of the image are distracting and pulls the eye away from the subject. The BKG appears to have some NR with looks a bit heavy as it 'jars' against the over sharpened image. If you have applied NR John, at ISO 1000 I'm surprised you needed to, but if you have, backing off will help. Perhaps f/8 or 9, ears to appear sharp, but I'm not sure if the muzzle is???

I lik ethe composition and the colours, I too think the contrast is perhaps a little heavy. DOF looked fine but now it has been mentioned the chin is just slightly OOF, a very good all the same.

Thanks Steve, No noise reduction here. The muzzle is a little soft more depth of field would have helped i wanted to keep the background as out of focus as possible.

HI John -- I really liked the subject here and the eye contact , loved those antlers as well. I agree with Steve reg the blacks/ contrast and also the white streak in the BKG. It didnt appeared to me as NR was applied, thanks for clarifying it.

    TFS !
