    Default Backlit Immature Herring Gull

    This one was captured at the local harbour. The sun was near to setting, which left the BG(grey coloured rocks) in dark shade, with the available light striking the back of the bird.

    Love the light here and that dark background. Bird looks nice and sharp.

    A real stunner, Will. Love that contrast of backlit bird and shadowed background. I have looked and tried for opportunities like this in the past myself and never pulled it off. This one works a treat and has your signature crisp detail and careful processing in evidence.

    Hi Will, this really works well. I like the rim light on the trailing wing edges and fanned tail. The darker BG makes this work so well.

    The guy looks like our Juvie Kelp Gull.
