At least I think they're pair-bonding. From the illustrations in my book neither looks like a juvenile. This is the only time we saw these guys, which are intra-African migrants and not Botswana residents.

    Wow Bill!
    This is excellent.
The iridescence of the wings is captured perfectly.
That rred eye is so cool.
    Nice clear view.
If you can, I would clone out the little branch in front of the left birds knees.
The green tree in the BG really adds a lot to the BG.
    Well doen,
    Gail

Bill, you'll have to stop this as I'm getting all the more envious of all the birds I didn't see or photograph when in Africa! The behaviour captured is great and echo the comments on the lovely sheen you've captured on the dark plumage. For me the white plumage isn't working quite as well as in some of your earlier posts. It may have a slight cast? It is also a little dull looking but perhaps that's how these look in real life?

Hi Bill, I like the similar poses with each other, and the light has certainly shown up the iridescence on their wings. Lovely eyes.

This is great Bill! The red eyes, with the red tinge to the bills. The awesome irredescence! Composition is excellent and shows off some great behaviour from a pair of stunning birds. I need to go to Africa!

Hey Bill, lovely image. I am enjoying seeing your images from Africa. What beautiful birds, perfect head angles, nice light, wonderful composition. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice. You did well with what appears to be strong light. Just enough foliage to no overpower the scene.

Good capture, Bill under bright light. Like the head angles and the feather iridescence. Nice out of focus green tree in BG adding some depth.

Besides the sun being pretty high in the sky this one looks great and I do like the interaction between the two birds with the crossed bills. Well done
