While in Minnesota we spent time at some very active feeders that were placed in dense trees. I previously posted 2 shots of birds that I got with the focus being active but that was not the case here. I pre focused for this shot on the area just behind and to the left of the feeder and waited for birds to fly in from that direction. The background was perfect there but the difficulty was that there were so many perches and directions for the birds to come in from that getting the bird at the right angle proved very difficult. This was made harder by the fact that the branches were so close that there was really no room to get the birds flying parallel to the camera. I would really like to try this sort of thing again using a feeder with perches on either side of it that are all on the same focal plane.

Great image. So much more dynamic than the traditional Chickadee on a branch. Smooth complimentary bg and beautiful light. Anyone who has experience capturing bif knows this was a difficult capture but well worth the effort.
A pretty neat angel-like pose. Clean BG, sharp on the face. You could consider removing the white speck on the chin. Not the easiest bird to get in flight, especially under the conditions you describe!
This is fantastic Isaac!! Just like John just mentioned "So much more dynamic than the traditional Chickadee on a branch". Exactly as we talked about earlier.
Nice details, exposure and BG too.
Well done

Hi Isaac, well done for getting this little fellow in your frame and sharp too. Great wingspread for the incoming perching, and the overall detail looks good. A lovely clean smooth BG to make the bird pop.
