Who won? ;) Great action and color. Nice details in the feathers, but the eye seems a little flat to me. Probably looks better full size though.

Great angle and moment captured. You could remove the sheen on the bill and the artifacts around bill, crab and legs and would accentuate the catchlight.

    Thanks for your comments.

Axel- if I erase the legs you wont be able to tell the crab is fighting back, to me that is the coolest part of the photo. I agree about the shine though, it bugs me a little.

Jim- you should have seen it, next, the crab pulled the plover into his hole- it was great! The crab and plover intersected too much so I erased the shot though...

Love the soft light, all of the angles, and the itty-bitty reflection.

I guess I was not very clear. :) What I meant is it looks as if you lassoed the bird and crab and sharpened then but you also sharpened part of the BG, which is what I would try to get rid of. As for the sheen, you could use the patch tool for that.

What a great shot, I love the momentary capture, is it possible to put a little light into the eye, I think it would make a big difference.

Like this a lot Chad. Wonderful low angle and your timing was perfect. The little crab really makes it for me.

Battle of the titans!!! ;) Nice image Chad...gotta love it when plovers go after these crabs (they are fiddlers, not hermits, right?). I particuliarly like the little reflection that you caught here. Nice work!
