From a month or so ago while in Florida. Getting towards dusk so more noise than I'd like.
D850- 300 PF with 1.4 TC, HH, 1/1600, 5.6, C1P raw, PS CCC 2018 adjustments and crop, NR and SS output.

Nice color, but yes noise is an issue. The perch running right through the photographic plane is
tough as well, but this is clearly a completely natural shot and you take what they give you, right?

Nice-looking adult Hawk with her foot up. Nice background but the tree is obviously not helping much. Looks a little noisy and I hair out of focus also. What ISO did you shoot that? I see that you have the 300 PF. How long have you had it how do you like it? Well done

This was at 1400. Not ideal - but do what you can.
I like the 300 PF very much - also with 1.4 - I think the IQ is very good and it focuses fast enough for most BIF shots.

Hi Joel, nice find and a cool image. Agree with Dave this one isn't sharp, I think the focus didn't lock on him or had some motion blur, see few artifacts around the branches. you made the best from this non-ideal encounter.

    I wish they had a 400 PF!

    Cheers buddy
