I have an SPCA dog wash coming up, so I thought I'd try to play with some "soap bubbles."

I'd probably need to add more of a bathtub scene for it to make complete sense, but I like the idea so far.

Very cool idea and cute dog. Why does he have numbers on his ears?

He is a retired racing greyhound.

From one of the sites on Greyhounds:

Racing greyhounds are identified by tattoos on the inside of both ears. The right ear tattoo is a two or three digit number followed by a letter, which describes the greyhound's date of birth and litter order. The left ear tattoo is a five digit number describing the greyhound's registration number, which is maintained by the National Greyhound Association. Note, however, that dogs imported from Ireland will have all letters.

Thanks, Jim. I'm glad the dog gets to retire.

Awesome Fabs! I really need to get that plug-in someday. I'd also like to learn how to make a "popping bubble" that I could put on the tip of an ear or nose. Any ideas?

I think Flood is free by now? At least, you can try it out for free.

Bubbles can be made in Photo Impact, just resize them down and do a few. If you want I can try to make you some and e-mail them to you?

Making the bubbles isn't really the problem, it is making one appear to pop. That said, if you can turn out a better bubble, I'd be super pleased :D Last I checked, flood wasn't free yet. :(

Thanks everyone. Funny you should mention them running away Al. At the Greyhound rescue event where this was made, the folks were really big on their emergency recall tricks. basically a rubber horn / squeaky thing that means "come get your favorite treat." A lot of time is spent conditioning the dogs to respond to that specific sound so they can be recalled reliably should they break away and run.

GOOD NEWS! The Greyhound folks want me to do their brochure images as well as a large event coming up in September. Seems like everyone wants September, I may actually have to turn some folks down if they don't book for a different month. Worse problems to have I suppose. :)

Jim, I tried to manufacture some bubbles, using the elliptical marque to copy a light colors, reducing opacity and adding black and white for depth. You may want to use a lighter color and do them all in a clear layer to use as you see fit.
