    Default Spoonbill in flight

I'd have preferred a better BG on this, but hard to pass up the ones that come straight at you.

    Morning light (8:30 AM), Canon 1DsMII, Canon 100-400 f/4.5-5.6 locked in at 340mm, BushHawk 320D Shoulder mount, ISO 200, f/5.6, 1/2000

Background is fine with me, Bob. Pink on gray looks kinda good :)

I would go back in saturation and sharpen the face a bit more.

    Good reflexes ;)

I'd drool over getting one this close anytime. I also don't mind the grey.

If you like 3D the background is great:) (I do)
This is a sharp, well composed image. The water drop coming off the back feet is a real bonus.
On my monitor, the image looks like it could use just a little bit of levels adjustment in the middle tones.

The BG actually works really well here. I would also desaturate a bit and S/H might help with the shadows. A bit more room top and right might look good, too.

Good flight angle and I also like the background. As mentioned, I think a little desaturation and S/H will improve this nice image.

Thanks for the comments all. I agree that I need to desaturate just a bit on this. That's always a difficult adjustment for me, as I am color-blind. I had originally cropped this with more room right and top, but liked this crop better. there is some room all around, so I'll give another look. The original is really sharp, so I'm not sure adding any more would help that or not. It really is hard to get a good look at them at this size, so I can see where it would look like it needed some. I just keep imagining how this one would look with some nice blurred Spoonbills wading in the BG.

    Thanks again all.
