    Default white-winged dove

Taken in Texas/Mexico border. I like the variety of doves and their often overlooked beauty. The colors throughout this bird may be subtle, but the blue eye ring, orange iris, and red potato skin feet, knocks me over! It was an incredibly hot day and this dove was pecking at a mere weed seed that blew in over this very dry soil. The BG is more dry soil...

Hi Ann, lovely low perspective and I like the inquisitive head turn and slightly open beak. Good DOF on the Dove, and the feather detail shows up nicely. The eye detail/colours really make this species attractive, and overall, nicely posed against the clean upper BG.

    Ann:

Lovely colors, strong sense of the dry environment, makes me hot just looking at it.

Just for personal taste , with the way it is framed, I might consider cropping 10% of the free space off the top.

    Cheers

Great IQ and tack focus with fine detail. I like the composition and the beautiful smooth back ground compliments the Dove. The eye color and blue feathers really pop on my screen.

Nothing to add to the comments already made on this one Ann: a subtle beauty, nicely captured and processed.

Wow Ann - This is a beautiful image of a beautiful bird. The colors on the bird are great, same with the foreground, but I'm drooling over that lush looking BG. It's a striking image...I wish I had more helpful words other than straight encouragement...but that's all I've got here. Thanks for sharing this one.

What a beauty, Ann. These are indeed lovely birds and you've captured the gorgeous eye very nicely. And that south Texas soil. This would look very nice as a pano.

    I love the color palette.
Great light and BG and a nice HA.
I would take a bit off the top, a bit off the LHS and add the same amount back to the RHS.
    Good one!!

Wow, must have missed this one.
The details and colors are fantastic and that Orange eye against the blue eye flesh is killer. Very nicely processed too. Well done Ann
