This is the last of my Kingfisher species from Botswana. Only got a few glimpses of this one.

    Bill"

Classic big head and bill, small feet, looking for lunch look.

Nice catchlight, like the soft bg.

Were in a boat when taking these?

    Cheers

Nice one, Bill. Beautiful soft light and fine detail. Like the texture you have in the darker areas. Well done.

Thanks Randy and Geoffrey. This one was taken from a Toyota Land Cruiser. as were most of the KF's. The Malachite that I posted the other day was taken from a "mokoro".

Beautiful work Bill. You certainly got a lot of great KF sightings on your trip. Wish I'd seen that many. No faults I can see here - everything works very well including the perch, pose and background. Of course, the bird looks great and is rendered beautifully here and up to your usual high standard.

Hi Bill, glad you got to see and capture a variety of KF's in my part of the world. Lovely angled pose, and the plumage shows up nicely.

Yep Bill - I echo what the others have said. Nice pose, nice little perch, perfect eye contact, and nice detail and colors on that species.

Thank you Stu and Noel. Yes, Stu, I was delighted to get to see so many of your beautiful Kingfishers. (Not to mention so many other SA specialties.)

Oooh...this is lovely. Late to the party but I like this a lot. That little bit of green in the BG really adds a lot.
Man, I wish I had seen one of these when I was in Botswana.
