ACR PSCC added a little saturation to the sky and TK masks to highlights here and there.
Image captured in Kruger Park from car window.
The pose and perch are great.
The light was not in your favor here and the face is,unfortunately, in shadow.
Whites are a bit hot on the shoulder.
did not realize you were in SA. Looking forward to more images,
Gail
Super cool take off pose here Jonathan. Man what is everyone going to Africa! The image quality seems off to me here and I am not seeing the fine feather details I am used to on your shots. Maybe because it is a bit too bright and you seemed to have the sun high in the sky? Also there seems to be a blue cast on the perch, especially the one of the right.
Cool take off pose Jon but I do agree with the others about the shadows and IQ. Looking forward to more from your trip

Hi Jon, your first South African avian image. Well timed for the take, and I like how the Tawny's head is pointing towards his flight path. Unfortunately, the african light does not stay soft for too long in the day, but at least you captured the moment.
Thanks for the feedback, the light proved quite problematical at times. For several days it was grey and overcast and then gradually cleared by which time the sun was often not in an optimal position, but I took what I was offered no complaints! Stu I think this was in the Satara area (going from Metadata). BTW hope you agree regarding ID! The sky wasn't as blue as this I saturated it, (it was very pale blue but bright) the bird was bright but it was not burnt out, I did lower highlights using TK masks. Shame the head was in shadow.
