Another KF species from Botswana. We only saw this one on a few occasions.

The bird stands out really well against the dark background. Perch is very nice with the green foliage and that little stem. Image quality of the bird seems to have taken a little hit due to the high ISO. Still it is overall a very nice image.

First time I recall seeing this species. Pretty neat overall. Just a bit of soft details on the belly and side areas. The foliage at right balances the comp well.

Like the composition here and that dark background. Looks pretty good for the high ISO.

    I really like this.
Great dramatic BG.On my monitor the KF looks great. Love the perch and the leaves on the RHS.

Hi Bill, looks like you managed to see and capture quite a few different KF's. Lovely angled pose, and you were fortunate to get this guy in the open. Most times they fly off as you are lifting your lens. Nice dark BG to make the little guy pop.

A fine shot Bill, I like the colours and composition, the dark background is ideal.

Just a bit late, but what a nice capture of this great looking Kingfisher, Bill. Beautiful light and the BG really concentrates ones eye on him.
