Very nice John. Great perch and I love the falling snow. Bird looks good but I do wish it was facing us just a bit more. The snow on the perch to the left and right of the bird look a bit hot. I was really hoping to photograph these guys in Minnesota but we didn't see any of them.

Yeah, great perch and sharpness. Sure the head angle could be better but this is what he gave you, right?
Falling snow in a nice bonus.

Nice tone and details. Does need some eye work to bring the bird to life. A bit of dodging to lift the reflections in the eye would help.

This is such a lovely frame, John.

I really like the snow and presence of lichen on the perch. Lovely framing, good colours and nice detail on the subject. IQ looks good, considering the big crop you mentioned.

Perhaps HA is not perfect, but I am sure you must have lots more images of those little siskin in your folders, so let us have some more please!

    Kind regards,
    Gabriela Plesea

You got me with the snow and this wee little one! All of the above suggestions and i would try burning the green lichen so you could get more color from them, TFS

I agree about the head angle, but I like the image a lot. Falling snow, perch (although thinner would be better), and BG all good.
