This juvenile Pectoral Sandpiper was photographed on the East Pond of Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge (my home away from home) on a beautiful morning spent with Artie. The bird was feeding back in the blue stuff but I got a few frames of it as it walked right to the edge and was able to get a good reflection. I wish I was a little higher up but we could not move as the birds were too close and we would have surely scared them off.

Love this species, this image, and J-Bay. Reflection here is great as is the green/blue BG. I've birded there many times but have not
returned since I've been photographing.
Dorian if you ever are heading back to Jamaica Bay let me know. I'd love to meet up. It can be amazing for shorebird photography when conditions are right. Plus I would be able to give you up to date details on species diversity and numbers.
It is a beautiful capture Issac. The light, colors, reflection, pose and processing all working together here. Agree that 6" higher would have made it even better.
Hi Isaac,
I missed this one this AM. Love that killer light and low POV.
I can smell the mud and muck you were crawling in!
No issues with posterization in this image. The 4 little specular highlights look very cool in the reflection. I am glad you left them in.
Lovely!

Awesome looking shorebird Image Isaac! Tons of great details and colors. Pose and light angle are spot on too. Not much to do except enjoy this one. Well done
