In keeping with this months theme, this mallard hen was captured a couple of weeks ago. It was pretty high key to begin with, but I played it up just a bit in post.

Post: mild crop for comp. Selective sharpening. I left the tracks in the snow to give it a bit more depth

    Advice and comments always appreciated

    Cheers

Very nice. Love the pose on the bird. Detail looks good as well.

Love the wing position but not the two primary shadows on the bird's face. Super sharp, but not a fan of the footprints ...

with love, from the dark side,

cool exposure and pose Randy. Just curious was the RAW tack sharp here or did you have to sharpen it?

BTW, you should get a D850!

Love the wing position and IQ.
I am not sure about the footprints in the snow but certainly not a deal breaker.

I softened the foot prints with the clone stamp. Could easily get rid of them completely, but I like the slight texture. I was OK with original, but can see this version as well.

Thanks for your advice and thoughts.
