Another one of the mountain hares. This guy is sitting just below a little ridge. I processed this one with a bit more of a high key approach on the background (toned it down a bit on the hare to keep some colour).

Hi Simon - I think you achieved what you wanted to here so well done. If it were mine I would go brighter/whiter with the bg and snow rather than the slightly gray as posted. The comp works for me though I wouldn't mind having a bit more of the hare visible but I'm guessing that wasn't really possible as it hunkered down against the elements. Great to see you experimenting. Keep them coming.

    Rachel

Simon might have mentioned it before but I'm loving these mountain Hare shots of yours, think that your capture of the elements is spot on,wilds of Scotland I'm thinking?Personally I can't see a lot that I would change, what I do remember from being up in Scotland a few years ago is how difficult it was getting these shots so very well done.

Thanks Rachel and Keith. I did try even whiter but then it looked a bit overdone, I guess it's a matter of personal preference so would be interested in what others think on this point. I liked this one because he was so hunkered down but again there are so many viewpoints one can take of these guys. Still going through my images so got plenty more options as well as other animals of course.

I like this as presented Simon, but curious to see a more contrasty version too if you have.

Subject is super cute I wonder how you managed to spot this little bundle of fur in the snow, he is so well camouflaged.

Would love to see some more, bring them on!

    Kind regards,

lovely again Simon I'm fine with your presentation. As before an animal I'd love to have a crack at,I really like how he's pulled right down into the snow and the blur of his lower reaches as his fur disappears into the snow . It's fantastic you got to make a good few images please share more, they are a real treat for me

Looks good to me, I would guess it replicates the conditions pretty closely.
Hoping to get something similar in March in the Peak District..... but I am hoping not too much snow, I don't like cold feet!
