These are stunning birds Geoffrey. The perch, pose and background look great to me. I suspect this one could benefit from playing with the brightness and tonal rendering of the bird as the colours look slightly thin to me. Probably a result of the direct light but worth having a bit more of a play with that, I think.

Colors are beautiful but image isn't sharp. Was this a particularly heavy crop?

These really are fantastic birds. Your perch and background look great. I think something is off a bit with the processing though. Certainly worth a revisit as you have all the makings here of a really nice shot.
