    Default Crested Caracara going places

Photographed down in Texas last month, this Crested Caracara clearly had places to go. I was going to post a hand held flight shot of a stilt, but there were so many nice stilt shots posted that I'll save mine for another day.

Canon 1D Mark III, 500mm, f/5, 1/320, ISO 800, -1/3 EV, tripod, no flash (would have liked to have it but it wouldn't fit in the blind)

On of my favorite birds Doug !!!! They are total characters !!!

Great pose with the paw up and such intensity Feathers look good with lots of detail and sharp. Perch looks real good and the bg is just sweet !!! Like it all !!

Cool image Doug, I like the pose with its paw still in the air. Personally I would increase contrast slightly.

The BG and soft light make it a winner.

Terrific shot, great colours and the foot caught in mid air, nothing obtrusive in the background all makes for a winner!

Nice. I like the high step. Might try some more blacks in the black. Was this at the Cozad's?

Reminds me of a butler. . ."Walk this way, pleas . . ." I agree with cutting the haze with a selective color adjustment to add black to black as Artie mentioned.

Great setting, pose and BG. Another vote for more contrast/blacks.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I'll try to push the blacks a little more based on your expert guidance.
