It is a pleasing image Don and made me smile. Your owl has a very determined expression. All the techs look great and the back ground compliments. I think a bit more space below and a bit less above might be worth a try.
Very nice shot Don. I agree with the idea of less space on top. And, if you edit out items I don't care for the brown leaf behind the tail and the rock on the left edge. Love the fact that he's (she's?) standing like this. The only burrowing owl I can shoot here is forever seated and sleepy :(
Thanks for sharing.
Don like our little Owls these can have a real comical look about them,I do like this ones intense stare, personally I don't think I would change it ,I'm fine with the leaf.Nice job.
Keith.
Lovely owl, Don. Nice to see that some may have survived the hurricane. I will be heading down there the first or second week of May hoping to find chicks and fledglings. I like the clean composition, perfect background and techs. Thank you for sharing.

Very nice alert pose and the details look very good as do those wide open eyes. Congrats on the new camera. I agree about cloning out the rock under the wings. Also the photo has a yellowish/green cast that I would correct.
Looks like the new gear passed the test. Nice standing pose and direct stare. I don't mind the leaf, but agree with the above crop suggestions.
Nice to see you posting here Don, and congrats on the 5Div, I own one and love it. Sweet details on this alert burrowing owl, love the bokeh. TFS
Thanks everyone for your comments here is a edited version with the cloning and color cast removed.
