    Default Fledged Osprey

I have been going back over my files because of the lousy weather we are having and found this one. When I find one I like I am updating the pp as I have a slightly better understanding of LR and PS now. It is the last image I have of an Osprey from fall 2016 and it is of one of two fledglings I was observing. This was taken in the calm just before a major Nor Easter. I only saw the chick once during the the storm and then no more. This one, about 12 weeks old, never learned to fish and the father who had been feeding him left during the storm as well. Basic adjust in LR. Lightened the island that is the back ground in the image. Nr and sharpended in PS 1/2000, f4.5, auto ISO 640, +1/3ev, 500f4 E, D500.

John very well done getting this shot, great splayed wings and I would not like to be on the receiving end of those talons.

Lovely pose and color on the Osprey, The one issue with the pose is the Ospreys head gets lost against the wing i would selectively lighten the head and eye to draw more attention to it creating a stronger connection between the viewer and the subject.
